Synopsis
India has faced multiple attacks from Pakistan over the decades, often through proxy wars and cross-border terrorism. From the 1947 invasion of Kashmir to the Kargil War in 1999, military confrontations have shaped Indo-Pak relations. Terrorist strikes like the 2001 Parliament attack and 26/11 Mumbai attacks were traced back to Pakistan-based groups. Ceasefire violations and infiltration attempts along the LoC continue to threaten peace and stability. Despite diplomatic efforts, Pakistan’s support for jihadist outfits remains a major roadblock to lasting peace.
