Synopsis
In *Software* (1982) by Rudy Rucker, aging ex-hacker Cobb Anderson, who once created self-replicating AI robots called "boppers," is lured to the Moon with the promise of immortality. The boppers, now autonomous, seek to transfer his mind into software, blurring the line between human and machine. A wild mix of cybernetics, rebellion, and existential questions, *Software* explores AI, consciousness, and the consequences of technological evolution in a surreal, cyberpunk world.
