The Haunting of Hill House

The Haunting of Hill House is a 2018 Netflix series created by Mike Flanagan, inspired by Shirley Jackson's 1959 novel of the same name. The story alternates between two timelines: one follows the Crain family’s stay in Hill House during their childhood, and the other takes place years later, as the now-adult family members are still grappling with the trauma they experienced. In the past timeline, the Crain family—parents Hugh and Olivia, and their five children—move into the large, isolated Hill House with plans to renovate it. The house, however, has a sinister presence that begins to affect the family. As unsettling events escalate, the family is torn apart, and they are forced to flee the house after a tragic incident.
