Synopsis
"Through the Looking-Glass," written by Lewis Carroll and published in 1871, is the sequel to "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." The story follows Alice as she steps through a looking-glass (mirror) into a fantastical world on the other side. In this curious realm, everything is reversed, much like the mirror image of the real world. Alice encounters a variety of whimsical characters, including Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Humpty Dumpty, and the White Queen. The narrative is structured around a chess game, with Alice aiming to become a queen by advancing through the game’s stages. The story plays with logic and language in playful and imaginative ways, offering a rich tapestry of surreal adventures and philosophical musings.
