

Synopsis
"Ivanhoe: A Romance" by Sir Walter Scott is set in 12th-century England, during the time of King Richard the Lionheart. The story follows Wilfred of Ivanhoe, a disinherited Saxon knight, who returns from the Crusades to reclaim his honor and love, Lady Rowena. Alongside the legendary Robin Hood, Ivanhoe battles the machinations of Prince John and the villainous Templar Brian de Bois-Guilbert. Ivanhoe's efforts lead to the rescue of Rebecca, a Jewish woman wrongly accused of witchcraft, and his eventual reconciliation with his father. King Richard's return restores order, Ivanhoe marries Rowena, and Rebecca departs England, highlighting themes of chivalry, honor, and cultural reconciliation.
