

Synopsis
"Crime and Punishment" follows the story of Rodion Raskolnikov, a destitute former student living in St. Petersburg. Raskolnikov, convinced of his own intellectual superiority, believes he is justified in committing a murder for the greater good. He murders a pawnbroker and her sister but is consumed by guilt and paranoia afterward. As the story unfolds, Raskolnikov's psychological turmoil intensifies, leading to his eventual confession and redemption. Along the way, the novel explores themes of morality, redemption, and the consequences of one's actions in a complex and compelling narrative.
